This morning staff and students celebrated another excellent set of A level results. Over 80% of grades were at C or above, with B awarded as the average grade. Impressive grades were achieved in all subject areas.
Students’ hard work and dedication once again paid off with many now securing their first-choice places at university and college. Amongst the many high fliers, celebrating their success are Robbie Best with A*A*A grades who will go on to study Medicine at Newcastle University, Ryan Weatheritt with A*AB grades, who plans to study Aerospace Engineering (Private Pilot Instruction) at University of Sheffield, and Lucy Moat with A*AB grades who is heading to Durham University to study English Literature.
Students who sat BTEC subjects achieved equally impressive grades: Kiegan Jackson, who achieved a Distinction* in BTEC Creative Media, as well as an A grade in A level Photography and a B grade in Economics is heading to Lancaster University to study Cyber Security, and Maisie Dickinson, who achieved a Distinction* in BTEC Science as well as B grades in A level Law and Psychology, is taking up a Degree Apprenticeship with Northumbria Police. Jake Harvey achieved Distinction* BC and will study History at Newcastle University while Billy Jay-Davidson will study Politics at University of York after earning ABC.
