Our talented Year 8 students who have recently decorated an elephant sculpture, otherwise known as Elmer, as part of Elmer's Great North Parade.
The children each designed their own vibrant spot based on an aspect of school life, which were all added to the giant elephant to complete the design.
Elmer's Great North Parade is a trail of large, individually decorated elephant sculptures across Tyne and Wear. The public art event is organised by St Oswald's Children's Hospice who auction off the elephants at the end of the trail to raise funds for their charity.
Elmer's Great North Parade, based on the hugely popular children's book series, follows the hugely successful Snowdogs trail in 2016 which raised a huge £367,000.
Our Bedlington Academy Elmer is on display in Newcastle City Library until the end of October.
